My name is Bub Herfurth, and I developed a passion for the meat industry early in life. As the son of a butcher and a former business owner, I began learning the trade at a young age, helping out with odd jobs for my family’s business.
After graduating, I started working full-time in production at my family’s plant. Driven by a desire to grow and deepen my knowledge of the industry, I also took on part-time roles with smaller meat plants and custom processors while continuing my full-time work at the family business.
After 10 years of working for my family, I decided to pursue my interest in high-value meat packing plants. Over the next seven years, I gained valuable knowledge and certifications in humane handling, slaughter, fabrication, and packaging while managing operations at large packing facilities.
Eventually, I returned to manage my family’s business, a role I held for nine years before receiving the opportunity to start my own company.
What We Do
Lehigh Valley Meats, LLC is a family-run business. We began as a custom-exempt processor with the ability to perform slaughter under USDA inspection. Today, we offer slaughter, cutting, and packaging services, all under USDA inspection.

Our mission is to run a business that honors the Lord, treats the livestock we harvest humanely, and exceeds the expectations of our customers and producers.
